How to Choose a Domain Name for Your Blog

Published by cherieb at 7:08 am under Blog Writing Edit This

When creating a blog to showcase your writing, be sure to take time to carefully consider your domain name.  When deciding upon your domain name, consider:

  1. Your topic.  You put effort into choosing a topic for your blog, make your domain name reflect your topic.  Making your topic a part of the domain name will help people remember it.
  2. Your goals.  Think about your blog in the future, not just now.  If you choose a very specific domain name, it will be more difficult for you to write about other topics.
  3. Your audience.  Think about who you are writing your blog for.
  4. Your tone.  Is your blog going to be serious or funny?  Use your blog’s domain name to reflect your tone.
